Today is the first day of the Summit Byron Bay. Guests will be transferred from the Gold Coast International Airport to the pristine beaches of Currumbin. Guests can enjoy a quick swim in the ocean and bite to eat before prepping their bikes in time to roll out at 1.00pm. Today’s route is challenging, yet once you reach the top of ‘Best of All Lookout’ you will be rewarded with a panoramic view spanning Coolangatta to Byron Bay. At a steady pace, guests can choose to ride 45km to Springbrook (inclusive 14km climb), or continue a further 7km (average 10%) up to 'Best of All Lookout' for a panoramic view of the entire plateau and ancient Antarctic Beech forest. All guests will regroup for a well-earned brew and refreshments at Springbrook General Store before transferred to the Summit hotel, Byron at Byron Resort for a relaxing and welcome dinner on the Spa deck.

Day 1

Byron Bay Ocean Vista ride and KOM/QOM Challenge.

Following breakfast at the resort, we'll ride through the beautiful backyard of Byron Bay. You will have the choice between a long and a short ride, both including the KOM/QOM Challenge and fully catered lunch stop. The day begins with a short flat roll before launching into the first of many climbs. The routes take in stunning coastal views over the ridge tops of Byron Bay and cut through quiet roads under beautiful tropical canopies and across several gravel sectors. A feast of local produce awaits guests roadside for lunch, before continuing on to the KOM/QOM Challenge where riders can test themselves over the Byron Wall in their quest for glory. Guests will continue over a number of rolling climbs before descending to the Summit hotel, Bryon at Byron Resort. Upon your return you will be able to cool off with a recovery swim in the ocean or the resort pool. Tonight we will enjoy a barefoot dinner on the sands of Elements of Bryon.
